  Impoundment fees
  For the first impoundment: $25; plus $25 for each additional twenty-four-hour period;
  For the first 24 hours of a second impoundment within a year of the first: $35; plus $35 for each additional twenty-four-hour period; and
  For the first 24 hours of a third (or subsequent) impoundment within a year of the first: $45; plus $45 for each additional twenty-four hour period.
  
  ​Per New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets a day is defined as a 24 hour period from midnight to midnight.  Redemption period starts after midnight following the day of seizure.  Example: Dog seized at 10:30pm and redeemed at 9am the following day, that is a 2 day impoundment.
